In one summer vacation we visited some friends in Los Angeles California. They have an outdoor swimming pool and my then 4 years old son Paulo had fun in their pool.
I’m not sure what’s special with that pool but my son love it.
One afternoon after our vacation, my son and I were watching TV and I asked him, “Son, if we’ll build a new house, how many swimming pools do you want to have?”
“Daddy, I want two swimming pools.” He replied and then paused for a second.
“No, no, I want three swimming pools. One for you, for mommy, and one for me.” He added.
Immediately, I was reminded of a verse in the Bible about “Child Like Faith.”
If you’ll ask an adult the same question “How many swimming pools do you want to have?”, you’ll surely get a sarcastic reply or something like…
“Bath tub nga wala ka, swimming pool pa.”
Don’t believe me?
Try it, ask your spouse or friend the same question. 🙂
My point is this, in starting your own business you’ll need to have a Child Like Faith.
Frankly, a lot of corporate employees would like to start their own business but they don’t have the faith at all in their ideas and capabilities.
They’ll excitedly tell you about their GREAT business idea but if you’ll ask them what are they doing with that idea they’ll immediately tell you 100 reasons why they can’t execute it.
That’s why these people are still in their corporate job making someone else wealthy instead of themselves.
Remember this, it’s not the business idea that matters but the execution of the idea. You actually don’t need a brilliant idea to succeed in business. Most successful businesses are neither great nor creative at all when they started.
So don’t be just the “idea” guy but be someone that makes things happen.
Lastly, have faith in yourself and to God who created you.
Dreams can be real. We only have to know what we want and be focused at it. Do something towards the fulfillment and never stop. True it is that life is never over until God says it is. We must serve the mission or purpose in all of our lives. We work, make money not just for ourselves but for others as well. We should not be selfish to share what we have, for I believe that the finances we gain in the process is there for us to help others- charity is when you give until it hurts, as my dad said. CHARITY MUST BE OBSERVED WITH RESPONSIBILITY TOO.

I am into real estate brokering business, being a licensed real estate broker. I am in the process of organizing an office for the purpose. I have first to file for accreditation with as many developers and financing companies; plan on how i can get people know and be attracted to buy or lease properties in my listings. Am not so knowledgeable in internet facilities so , i guess i need to build my website.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

am in this situation… so afraid to get out of my comfort zone…but i know l am more of a business person… just afraid to leave my job coz am a single parent and have a 15yr old daughter. i can easily see biz opportunities.. some i tried but didnt succeed coz cant give it my full time… i still.have sidelines which i could expand if i have time for.it

i really love to read every business tips that you’ve been sending. its encouraging, i mean sounds like putting up a business is just an easy thing that can be done by anybody.pardon me saying that there are people who are not good in business, but they are good in other matters and they are successful.what i mean is, i do believe that we have our own field of work in this life.kaya ko naman nasabi ito, e kasi, di ko talaga malaman kung anong negosyo nababagay sa akin,wala din akong kaalaman magpatakbo nyan,kaya ginagawa ko muna sa ngayon,nakikisosyo na lamang muna ako at namumuhunan sa mga taong may mas nalalaman kaysa sa akin.

I have been selling (baby stuff – brand new & pre-loved) online for almost 7years now (5yrs as a side line as I was employed in an events company) and have decided to focus on my business since last year. With this kind of set up, I can look after my 3 boys (Eldest is 14, 2nd is 7yo and youngest is 15mos) as long as I want. And it is at this time that my husband & I have finally decided to put my dream into reality! Hopefully, our shop will now have its very first physical shop! But I have to admit, I am scared and skeptic about this dream as I have soooo many what ifs.. – “Pano pag walang bumili? Pano ko babayaran ang rent etc?” – These are the things that’s been holding me from making this dream a reality, aside from financial capacity to become fully operational. And then I read your email. everyone is free to imagine and think of great bz ideas . but FEAR to start is often the hindrance .fear of failure and be ridiculed, fear to face market challenges or even fear of sharing your business ideas to others ..that fear is counter productive. I have read robert koyisaki books but frankly i find it easier read than put it to practice. i pray that this time i make my first step
by the way my business idea relates to a new and simple product innovation along the construction industry since i am an R&D person on strategic finishes and materials

I started my business the time i read one of your emails, naging eye opener talaga sya. Ngayon naisip ko I wasted too much time, money and effort sa mga business na pinasok ko tulad mo dati. Sinunod ko ang payo mo, passion it is. Mahilig ako sa bags at mga damit at mahilig din ako mag benta ng kung ano ano. Kaya nag start ako ng bag making business, at don lumabas ang pagiging creative at resourceful ko. May talent pala ako na binigay ni Lord, lahat tayo actually we just need to realize it kase hindi naman Sya literal and His plan is to prosper us not to harm us. Hindi pa ako mayaman sa ginagawa ko madami pa din challenges pero kailangan child like faith diba? hello coach Jon… ive been in network marketing business for a long time now but still without any real result na gusto ko. But then im thankful ive learned along the way and made me better than i was before. Then a video from somewhere made me realize that its not really my passion, and im not that confident in doing so and that i am craving for something better that i can really call my “own”. I guess im better of creating my own product and brand and sell it. So when i heard about your IBMC, just read on what im gonna get from it, then it just smoothly came to me to create an ebook myself. There were help from here and there but mostly my own and im so proud that I finished my ebook. I am planning to produce a hard copy of that too. Ive simultaneously started too another book but stopped halfway. Then again i realized, im more confident in doing a business of my own product – so i got an idea of a one product but i dont know how i will do about it starting from scratch. Please advice coach Jon. By the way, finally after 2 times failing to register on your IBMC now i am ready for 24th for the initial module hehhe.. im excited!
Thanks for eye-opening reminder Sir Jon. Actually, there are 50,000-60,000 ideas an average man can generate. Most of us are just passive thinker and never mind whatever great ideas that crossing our mind. One remarkable characteristic of successful people is the ability to implement things. We are stuck by our analysis-paralysis syndrome. We think more than a university professors and do less than a blind man. Please send me more inspirational email Sir Jon. This is my thoughts sir Jon. A dream, a wish, and idea can be transformed in reality only if there’s a burning desire to make it in reality. A person who have a burning desire combined with Faith, passion and believe that everything is possible. Hello Jon. I guess you also wonder how many of us really read your emails. Whenever I receive marketing emails, iniisip ko, some “bot” or marketing firm must be feeding me all these and I’m probably right. But I’m glad to see a fellow Filipino, with a face and a name, sharing ideas in my personal inbox everyday. I hope one day I would have the strength and resources to finally bite the bullet and enroll in your class.
We are all business men. Even if we are in a corporate world we work because we want to earn income by selling our time-bundy clock is the star object here. Financial freedom is reserve for those on top positions. Managing our own business doesn’t mean that we can have more extra time to spend with our family-as what many are expecting, and more money on our saving account. Wrong! not all business have this kind of leisure living.
If we really want to transfer from an employee to business owner we have to follow our passion, plan it (set time when to start, make business plan), get all the resources (buy books, attend seminars, talk to business people) execute it and financial freedom will follow. Of course, ask God’s help.

Hi Jon, I an thankful for your motivational messages which inspired me to start my own part time business while doing my day job here in Jeddah. I actually started to innovate a new product, which is called Polvoyema, a fusion dessert of polvoron and yema. Currently I am starting to have a customer base here and once I return to the Philippines this October, I will be doing a dry run of the business with my wife.
