Growing up I often hear the statement “Walang empleyadong yumayaman.”
I used to believe that.
But actually there are employees who became rich just being an employee.
Most are CEOs, Presidents, or top executives of large corporations.
Unfortunately, to be in that position, you need…
…the right skills
…lots of experience
…good education
…and the right connection.
Just so you know, most large corporations don’t look for their new CEOs through job banks like jobstreet or jobsdb.
They hire top executives from recommendation of someone else.
So if you don’t have the connection or combination of those things, you’ll be at the bottom of the pyramid.
That’s how corporate world was designed and it won’t change.
In short, there’s no way you’ll be rich with your current position in the company.
That’s why I believe that for most people starting their own business is the path to prosperity.
Because with business, you decide how much you want to make.
Ang kita mo ay nakasalalay sa iyong mga kamay at hindi kung magkano ang ibibigay sayo ng ibang tao.

Hi desperate mom.
It will be difficult to start a business if you’re in serious debt. Maybe you can start some freelancing job to augment your financial needs.
Once you’ve settled some of your financial obligations, only then you should consider starting a business.

Hi Romy.
I have several podcast about choosing the right business for you.
And you need to consider other things than just capital.
Most people think their problem is capital but really it’s a symptoms.
Frankly, capital is not a problem if you really want to make it happen.

Hi Jon,
I agree to your business advices,I am also eager to start a business while still working in my recent job……..however,one thing that keeps me from starting now is the kind of business taxes system we have in the Philippines for small scale businesses which is different from other countries’ system I think. My brother had just started a small business, but beforehand he was billed a tax more than the company did received from his clients which some are still not received yet)He was billed by the gross profit and not by the net profit .Worst thing is…..he was billed higher than the actual receivable. Why is that?If it so…..how would you like to start earning your own if BIR will only steal it from you?I know what you will say……of course he needs to study more about business accounting which is not his line therefore he hired an accountant who left office for more greener pasture leaving all the headaches of this taxes to my brother.Same also another brother of mine did started a tricycle business when he stop going abroad. Before he started profiting from it,upon applying for the licenses to operate, they already ask the tax ahead for the whole year…….why is that?Tell me because I am confuse whether to start or not.
Jon Oraña says
Hi Weyne.
I obviously don’t know the details but based on your short story you probably have an improper book keeping and you filed your documents incorrectly.
Hire a bookkeeper and an accountant to do the taxes for you. Nung una, I felt na gastos lang to hire them but they’ll save you a lot of money long term.
You don’t want to pay the government more than what’s required.
Search for tax planner or tax planning.
Better if you can find an accountant that have basic understanding of your brother’s business.

ya right, i’ve experienced so many jobs pero kahit isa hindi nkapagbigay ng ginhawa… becoming your own boss and earning money from your owned bussiness is one of the greatest factor in earning a lot of money… theres a lot of posibilities on how to stablish your own business, there are also a lot of money making plan that surround you. Money is like a rain drops and you should know kung klan sya bubuhos at kailangan meron kang nakahandang malaking drum para mas marami kang maipon…. just like a simple thought about blessing
