Yes I do agree with your strategy of identifying the
Top 3 or 4 most impt things from your notes.
My strategy on the other hand is using a day planner where I take notes of the things that needs to be done from meetings, discussions and/or observations and daily reviews from reports or feedbacks.
In my planner, I have already identified my goals or focus areas such as quality, sales related or efficiency etc. so if an activity is related to my critical success factors then it becomes important .
I further categorize other activities as important and urgent, important but not urgent, urgent but not important and not impt – not urgent .
These four categories form a quadrant .
Quadrant 1 : impt – urgent
Quadrant 2: impt but not urgent
Quadrant 3 : urgent but not impt
Quadrant 4: not urgent and not impt.
Quadrant 1 is a crisis quadrant due to poor planning.
— it must be done by hook or by crook or else business suffers.
Quadrant 2 : is the planning quadrant , do it now to prevent breakdown or crises. Identity risks, threats and challenges and come up with how to mitigate them.
Quadrant 3: can be delegated by a knowledgable staff.
Quadrant 4 : watching tv? Reading newspaper, – a time waster.

Hi, I’ve been reading and listening to your posts recently and I just want to ask for advise from you. I have my own personalized souvenir & photobooth business and a full-time employee as well. In my work, my problem is that our payroll in the office is always late for about 2 years now. I thought resigning already but I cannot escape the corporate office because I still need that steady income. My business is doing great but still it doesn’t compensate our monthly needs yet. What can you advise?
Do not be led by your emotion by resigning and have unstable business. I made the same mistake and it’s a bad decision.
Work harder on your business, use your time wisely, and model successful businesses that’s related to yours.
it is helpful for us self-employed if we need to diversify our business.

Hi Jon I just watch your video. Last night I read something in your blog about Life Coaching. How can I acquire that skills where and I hope hindi sobrang mahal. Coz I really dreaming to have a homebase business wherein I can spend a lot of time for my family especially that I have a 2 year old little boy and a 13 years old autism. Dreaming to spend most of my time like going with them for a family bonding, vacation and even eating with them in 3 meal time everyday really matters. I found before a website in getting skills about life coaching but it seems so expensive……..how i wish to find one that is jot that much.

No. I’ve tried it and it just wasted my time, effort, and money. Hindi siya pangmatagalang income generator business. Let’s face it sa Networking (MLM) 99% of what you sell is the business and only 1% for the actual product. Baka nga mismo ikaw di nagamit nung product kasi hindi sya praktikal. haha. Ang pinanghahawakan mo ay may makumbinsi ka ring iba na mangungumbinsi rin ng iba na gawin yung business. Sorry for the term ha, pero feeling ko pangloloko lang yun. You are saying na you believe in the product, yeah right, but don’t deny na eager ka kasi gusto mo kumita ng malaki. Pasensya na sa mga nasa ganitong line of work. Just my opinion base on my experience 🙂

I am a mother of two who just recently been out of job because the company(intl bank) I worked with decided to close our branch. First, catching my attention is the word “Cautious Entrepreneur”. I have to take control of myself of doing Investments – time, money, effort and people. Reading your emails, blogs is a great impact of where I am now, quitting job is the scariest decision I made. Because I focused on what resources that I have right now. Financial management is must to learned and applying it in myself. I develop my resources right now and applying what you teach. Priority of doing things must be done daily. That was an eye opener Jon, I don’t have much on, on line business, although I know how to use the computer at my still productive 71 years here on our mother earth. After retiring from my works, I was dupe on the Money trading business by a close lawyer friend. All my savings including my retirement funds were wasted. Now how can I start a business with a very little or no capital at all and what kind of business can you suggest for me to start with.
Hope you can help this poor old man to at least have new least of earning.

I’m in the animation industry for roughly 10 yrs.. I started out as an employee in my early years then had enough , so I started to persue what I love and that is to do animation and to get inside the animation industry. After some time I did get what i want and that is to become an animator in a well known studio here in the Philippines. Things are going smoothly eventhough the set up for an artist like me is only “freelance” basis… nabuo sa isip ko na ” kung magaling ka mas marami kikitain mo ” and I did excelled compared to my other colleagues and batchmates who’ve given up.. I even get the chance to work with the most influencial people in the country. She offered me a job with the aide of my mentor in her new venture , and I willingly accepted thinking this will be a step in leveling up my knowledge in the industry even if the pay is low ( in short sumugal ako sa taong ito with her vision ). The fact that i’ve accepted to be chained again does’nt stop me from doing other sideline (art related of course). as years passed by I’ve encounter other artist, young and old.. mostly old ones.. and found out the other side of this so called dreamjob. I saw the sad truth although I knew this already since then but never realize it till I saw it firsthand. Aside of not having any insurances,benefits and other government aid… artist working in the animation industry are very much the same as a contractual worker.. even lower. Iba ang build up ng media sa artist compared sa real story.
The sad part is, the company that I dedicated most of my life just shuts down because of political reason last 2014 leaving me with nothing.. in short I”m back to square one.. but i never gave up.. naisip ko magfreelance uli sa animation studio but it’s not the same anymore… lalong lumala ang sistema at marami padin ang naloloko dito ng walang kaalam alam. so I tried doing storyboard and animation projects .. so far it gives food on the table for the past 2 yrs,but thats just about it.. I do LOVE what I do pero walang financial freedom.. hindi ako umabot sa word na “KUMIKITA”, lahat puro “BAWI BAWI” lang and I’m tired of the same old shit! already.
I’m not getting any younger and I just had my 2nd baby last march and I need to change things both mentally , emotionally and finacially! but i don’t know how. I love my family so much that I’m risking myself again for their sake.. but I dont know how or where to start.. I NEED HELP!

I have a lot of to do list in my previous corporate life. From 1-20 I can only finish up to 10 at the end of the day. But now I still have a few daily to do list to remind me of my priorities. It is true that it helps you manage your time and focus on priorities.

Hi Jon! Really having a hard time. Single Mom with 3 kids and just had a surgery last december. A lot of debt to pay and just receiving salary of 13k a month. Can you advise me what to do. My only desire is to earn for me to send my childrean in a good school. A work wherein I can have a time for my children, household chores and for my self. I want to be free from 8hours job and earning more than enough for what we need in our daily expenses. Searching for a virtual assitant but there is always a fee which I don’t have. We have a compay phone so we are somehow required to take calls all the time, 24/7. I am just browsing over instagram and I saw your advertisement. I got lots of things to do for a business but they are stuck in my mind due to a long suffering from a devastating body pains and aches and drained me financially. I am now living by faith. But I got inspired today to make myself whole and push through with it. But I also learned today that many entrepreneurs are looking for an article writers. can you help me to reach them if I can meet their standards so that I can have some penny for my continuing medicines because I am sure I’m getting fine with what I have started only I am drained now. worst thing is i cant even find myself in a good condition on my employment status..
