Today, I’ll answer one of the biggest questions in business.
Read this blog post entirely and you’ll discover one of the success secrets in business.
QUESTION:
“Jon, I have a t-shirt printing business and I can’t sell them. How can you help me?” – JM
ANSWER:
Hey JM. What you need to understand is this…
Business is about exchanging of value.
The problem with that system though is there’s no accurate measurement of value.
Maaring magkaroon ng dayaan or lamangan.
Malinaw ba?
So people created money and the market knows what value of money is. Instead of paying someone with goods, you just need to pay them money.
Sa negosyo, when you’re selling something, your prospect, in their heads they’ll ask… “Is this worth the amount of money he’s asking for?”
If you can’t prove to a prospect that your t-shirt or whatever goods you’re selling is not worth the tag price you’re asking, hindi ka makaka benta.
Does it make sense?
Remember, business transaction is about exchanging of value.
So your job as an Entrepreneur is to answer this BIG question…
“How can I package and sell my product so that in the eyes of my prospect it’s worth the amount I’m asking for?”
Many aspiring Entrepreneurs don’t even ask themselves this question.
Akala nila, porket maganda ang product people will automatically buy from them.
No! No! No!
You my friend have to learn how to market your t-shirt business so you can prove to your target market that it’s worth of the tag price.
Let me know your thoughts below.

Hi Jon, been following your emails and they make sense.
Am with the banking industry for 25 f**cking years!!! Am a single parent with 1 dependent and this makes my parents afraid if i quit…so am I. I will lose my fixed income… my fixed income which makes me a slave to credit cards and salary loans!
Since I am a single parent and my salary cant cope up for our daily expenses…i have other sidelines. the major sideline i had was a spa…i put one in my house, i have 1 therapist since it is only inside the subdivision. But i got a problem with my therapist so i closed my spa.
I still have other sidelines like soap making, perfume making, t shirt selling, and am into network marketing which i want to focus on… Am more enjoy selling my wares than the bank’s products and services hehe… i dont sell inside the bank, only to my co workers and not to clients… my customers only pick up the goods in the bank.
If i quit my job, i might lose my “network”… and other fears related to…
hope you could give me a sound advice like you do to the others…
thanks a lot and more power!
Jon Oraña says
Hi Agnes.
You don’t have to quit your job to start a business.
That’s not “Cautious Entrepreneurship”.
My advice, always, is to start a part-time business and only quit if your business can replace your salary. Use your job as your safety net.
Hindi madali, but definitely possible.
With this approach, you’re not taking unnecessary risks.

Advantage ko I do the designs or personalized, mostly I only sell to certain groups of buyers na may parehas ang interests, example: online gamers – may mga guild or groups. So I made a design for their groups.
Thanks!

hello Jon, Ive been reading your emails. Thank you for your great insight. I have a small animation studio, and my primary services are web and interface design and video animation production, and its ok, but i wanted to make it more productive. Ive been reading a lot of business books to educate myself. I am just wondering, in your experience as an entrepreneur, let say you have an animation and design studio, how would you market your studio? who are the people you will approach first? Thank you.
Jon Oraña says
Hi Prime.
What I’ll do is first identify who are my specific niche market. You can’t be the design studio for everybody. That will not work anymore.
Once I’ve identified them, then I’ll go find how can I reach them? Online or offline.
For example, I decided to become a “Design Studio For Restaurant Owners”
Are there trade magazines for restaurant owners? Are there events where they gather? Are there forums or facebook pages? Etc.
Babs Torres says
Hi Jon, I started to read your emails and I need also your advises. I opened a SPA in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, gusto ko ma improve and SPA business ko, how can I catch more clients? Thank you for your time.
Babs
Jon Oraña says
Hi Babs.
If you have a budget, you need to market and advertise your business to potential customers.
Kung limited budget ka, find a partner. Another business who caters to the same customers. For example, you can partner to a parlor. Every referral nila, they’ll get a commission and vice versa.
Bottom line, you have to go out there and actively promote your business.
People will not just naturally go to your SPA because it’s open.

ano po kayang magandang gawin? o pakulo? 🙂
help me guyz.. thanks 🙂 and God bless.. 🙂
Jon Oraña says
Hi June.
Some ideas to increase sales.
1. Create a different flavor of your burger. Like spicy or pure chicken.
2. Sell something else that will complement. Kung burger, maybe you can sell drinks or fries on the side.
3. Have a promo. Buy 2 Get 1 Free.
For long term, think of a repeat visit strategy. Like give away a coupon so they’ll keep on coming back.
jomar says
how can i find a legitimate network marketing company?
Jon Oraña says
I suggest that you start your own business. That is the TRUE Entrepreneurship. In MLM, you’re merely a sales force of that company. Many people don’t realize this. Gobyerno muna.
Mary Grace Ponce says
Thank you so much jon for your brilliant ideas in enterpreneurship.
Im a teacher and planning to have my early retirement soon.I also learned about MLM which isnt good.Thank God I have read your article.
Could you please help me jon on what business would I start?
I love bags, shoes and sandals and most of all i love to cook and bake.
Would it be good to enroll in baking so I could start on any baking business? Please reply,I would be vety glad to hear from you!
Jon Oraña says
If you’re passionate about baking, go for it. Go for it BIG. People are tired of same old breads. Be creative and pursue your dream.

hi jon,
i have a food supplements na gusto kong e market, ang problema hindi ko alam kung papaano, nasubukan ko na maganda yon product.. nag hahanap nga ako ng makaka bakas .. ano maipapayo mo? salamat in advance..
Jon Oraña says
Find where your target customers are and go there. Kung nagbabasa sila ng dyaryo, advertise on that newspaper. Kung may event silang pinupuntahan, go there too. You have to go out and be aggressive in marketing your product.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for sharing your experiences in business.
Question lang. When you were still an employee and on the road to entrepreneurship, how did you manage to pay taxes? Did you immediately register your a business/freelance? Did you have to reach a certain quota on sales/project before you registered sa BIR? Or did you register na maski di pa stable yung income?
That’s my problem now. I don’t know if I should register na maski wala pang sales. I also don’t know if I should file it as “Sole Proprietorship” or something else because I’m also employed sa advertising company.
Planning to make website design and development as freelance/business.
Hope you could give insights.
Thanks in advance!
