When I was still a corporate employee I felt like a fish out of water.
Nakakita ka na ba ng isdang wala sa tubig? Naghihingalo. Nagpupumiglas.
Deep in my gut I know I’m not supposed to be in a cubicle doing the same work every day again and again. Tapos maghihintay ng maliit na sahod pag dating ng kinsenas katapusan.
Early on I knew employment is not for me.
So I decided to pursue business. Malaking problema nga lang.
I don’t how to start and run a business.
I don’t have large capital to start. Magkano lang naman sahod sa Pinas right?
I don’t have friends or anyone that I know that are successful in business.
Worst of all, I have a lot of ideas in my head what business to start. Sa dami, that I’ve been paralyzed and don’t know where and how to start.
But then I realized, I have to take action. I have to do something with whatever I have.
No action = No results
Results can be bad or good.
Truth is, in life you succeed by taking action. And if it produces negative results, you adjust things so you get better results.
You can’t expect na first try mo lang e successful ka agad. It happens but rarely.
So what do you do?
Let me share with you a simple analogy.
Minsan ba na experience mo nang may mahulog sa ilalim ng upuan, couch, or table? Yung tipong kailangan mong abutin at kapain kung nasaan?
Hindi mo sya makita at kailangan mong kapain?
That’s exactly how you’re going to succeed in business and in life.
Try mong kapain sa kaliwa, pag wala dun, adjust mo ng konti.
Pag wala pa din dun, kapain mo banda sa kanan.
Pag wala pa din, abante ka ng konti. Until makuha mo ung gusto mo.
Life is very much like that.
First, define what exactly you want. Be specific.
It’s not enough to say “I want a lot of money.”
How much money do you want? P10,000 per month? P1 Million per month?
And then, you take action towards achieving that goal.
You will mistake along the way. Accept it. It’s part of life.
But for each mistake, use that as feedback mechanism and adjust your action or strategy until you succeed.
Trust me, if you’ll only take action and won’t give up on your dreams, you’ll eventually find it.
To your freedom,
Jon Orana
